Summary: Morro and Wu fly back home.
Warnings: Sobbing, unreliable narrator(?)
Prompt: Day 5 - Fly | "Time to go home"
Extra: Generic "what if Morro lived in the season 5 finale" AU. This oneshot is Morro and Wu's flight back to the Bounty, so they finally talk about their feelings. I hope you enjoy this!
"You can only save those who want to be saved. Goodbye, Sensei," Morro said with a bittersweet smile.
"Ugh!"—he shoved the Realm Crystal, the thing he worked so hard for, into his mentor's hands.
Then he let go.
He felt himself sinking, being dragged down to his watery death by her.
He heard the water lapping below him, threatening to swallow him whole, to consume him, to dissolve his ghostly body into nothing.
Until he heard a fleshy ripping noise. The muffled sound of The Preeminent screaming echoed from beneath him, and suddenly he wasn't sinking. He wasn't being held in a deathly grasp by his mistress. He wasn't being condemned to his oceanic end.
No, instead he sat atop an off-white scaly beast, with the sound of wings flapping in his spectral ears.
"Maybe you don't want to be saved, but this is not where your story ends, Morro," a voice, Wu's voice, uttered from behind. Morro whipped around, and there he was.
His sensei. His teacher. He… saved Morro.
"…why?"
"I should have stopped you from leaving the first time. I will not watch you leave again."
Oh.
Morro did not need to breathe. Ghosts do not have the ability to breathe.
So why did his throat hurt, like he's gasping for air while being choked?
Why did his eyes sting from tears his ghostly body cannot make?
Why did it hurt just a little bit more when Wu, his sensei, his father, hugged him despite Morro not being able to feel it?
Why did he feel the urge to wail, like a little child? Like he did when Mama didn't come back.
Muddled sounds of flapping wings and rushing winds broke him from his thoughts. Wu's dragon was soaring through the open sky, clouds distant and seemingly untouchable.
"You seem calmer now, my son."
Morro realized he was leaning against his master, and jerkily moved away. Wu shifted the reins in his hands.
Wait- "The Realm Crystal! Where is it?" Morro panicked. Did he knock it out of his hands? Oh The Preeminent was gonna-
Oh right. The Preeminent did try to kill him.
"It is safe. I dropped it off with the Ninja, so they could bring back Lloyd."
The wind elemental sighed in relief.
"I can't stay with you," Morro blurted.
"I don't see why you can't," Wu responded, his voice dripping in apathy.
"I- wha- I am a horrible person! I just tried to curse this realm! I-I possessed Lloyd, I tried to kill your Ninja, I have no redeeming qualities, I don't-..." he exhaled frustratedly, "I don't deserve your pity. I don't deserve this."
A beat of silence. Morro looked off in the endless blue of the sky.
"Well that's not right."
Morro was baffled. His sensei had obviously gone mad.
"Morro, you are my son. Adopted or not, you deserve my love, and I have failed you."
"You never failed me, I failed you. I should've lived up to your expectations-"
"But I did." Wu tilted his head back, as if the sky would tell him what to say next. "You don't need to be the best, you never did. I would've loved you either way, Morro. You're my son, you always will be. I should've made that clear. You do not need to be anyone or anything other than yourself for me to love you."
The feeling came back. Morro felt his lip quiver as he poorly restrained his feelings. He said nothing.
"I-I… I just wanted you to… be proud of me." His throat tightened more. "I thought that… if I was as great as you saw me, you would."
"And I should've shown I was. I was always proud of you, my son."
"...even now? I tried to ruin everything."
"Even now. Although I am quite disappointed you have used your training to destroy instead of protect, you are my son. And, I know you can do better."
Morro buried himself back into his father's shoulder. He sobbed, although tearless, as his father, his father, silently comforted him.
"Time to go home."

When I say I want Lloyd to be a parent I mean that in the same sense that he never had a very stable parental figure— Everyone kept leaving and leaving Lloyd to figure stuff out on his own, the closest he’s had to a good parent may honestly have been Kai in s5, and even then they were separated for long periods of time. Every adult around Lloyd always had their own issues and realistically could never help with his.
Once I said as a joke that Lloyd was raised by only siblings and how that would impact his own ability to parent but I also meant that for real. Even if the oldest sibling is in charge that still doesn’t substitute for a parent, the relationship will always be different.
And Lloyd having no proper parental figure to show him how to act or handle a bunch of kids? He didn’t even have a childhood of his own, really, constantly put in charge of the world and of others, so how could he be expected not to continually ruin the childhood of these two? He doesn’t want that for those younger than him and who he now has to take care of but there is literally nothing else he knows. There is only so many times he can tell Arin to keep going before it gets too much and he has to tell this kid that Maybe It Just Wasn’t Meant To Be, meanwhile the other one, Sora, is following his footsteps almost perfectly— also bad, because by god he wants these children to be happy in their lives, but what can one do against Destiny at this point?
I want Lloyd to be wholly unprepared while being able to exactly tell where all of this is going, yet thoroughly convinced that there’s nothing he can do about it. Because he can’t. The only thing he can do it try and try and pray to his grandfather that these two kids in the family line will for once not be Destiny’s favorite, knowing it’s already too late.

Ninjago Star Wars Au species list
I will not debate anyone over these
Starting up:
Jay, half human, half twi'lek, his mother is the twi'lek. When he was born he was shipped to the Huts on Tatooine but his little carriage pod dropped and was picked up by Jawas. He has mechanical wings he made himself and specializes in marketing for the Jawas because he's adorable
Force sensitive
Ed and Edna: Jawas who find Jay are the main ones who raise him but I'm fairly certain jawas take the whole village approach.
Cole: Togurta. Togurta's are very strong and agile but people always seem surprised when they actually show case their strength. This seemed very fitting for Cole.
Force sensitive
Kai and Nya: human nautolan hybrids but it has been so long since the nautolan was introduced they don't have many traits other than large dark eyes and Nya is able to breathe under water. (They don't know its nautolan, which is kit fistos species for those who don't know)
Force sensitive
Nya is stronger in the force but she uses chants to help her focus (like the og dathomirian witches)
Zane: zane is a kyber crystal powering a droid. He more specifically the crystal then the body because kyber crystals are sentient
Force sensitive
Pixal: same deal as zane but her crystal faced torture (from the mining process) zane heals her later but she still struggles (fun fact ahsoka's kyber crystals were corrupted and tortured but she rescued and healed them and that is why they are white)
Force sensitive can only manipulate it through the dark side
Garmadon and Wu: Diathim (also referred to as angels) and part zabrak (i went back and forth on that because beskalisks have four arms but then I drew it and just fit well for them) angels are considered the most beautiful creatures while zebraks tend to be considered evil. Both are capable of good and evil.
Very force sensitive
Garmadon isn't strictly a sith. More of just acts as he sees is needed. He does tend to use the dark side a lot though
Garmadon is missing his lower wings and has mutated arms with cyber supports
Misako: Chiss, intellectual tend to try to logic their emotions away (think a blue spock) the Diathim have prophecies. She wanted to study them. She and Garmadon fall in love
Lloyd: Diathim, zabrak and chiss. Very tall. Blue skin, red eyes, has all of his wings but also has a set of lower arms that do not have cyber supports.
Force sensitive, just dripping midiclorians to the point he boosts the sensitivity of those he is around
Struggles with acting in anger and will accidentally hurt his lightsabers original kyber crystals that he will wear on a necklace and pours into whenever he meditates
Rei: human, mandalorian black smith
Force sensitive
Maya: human nautolan hybrid also unaware of the nautolan she just thinks it's the force she is trained like the og dathomirian witches
Force sensitive
Lily: Togruta
Force sensitive
Lou: Togruta dancer and singer, gets paid for it
Harumi: human, not force sensitive but will later inject midiclorians to try be able to use the force and will become dependent on them
Cyrus: human, tries to create kyber crystal droids like zane but the mining process corrupted all of them including the prosthetics he tried to make that were powered by crystals. He chooses to be wheel chair bound after the incident but he is ambulatory with regular prosthetics he just finds it exhausting
Morro: zabrak, becomes a malevolent ghost but will later settle down into a regular force ghost who follows wu around
Force sensitive
Serpentine: sub species of hutt. Made them native to dathomir and the moons
Let me know who else you want to know
You will for sure get art of Garmadon. We will see about the others

hope the skin heals where the pain enters
(Happy Dragons Rising season 2 part 2 release day! For those asking "how did you get this written SO fast", I watched the leaks when they came out but waited to post this UNTIL it was out officially. Friendly reminder to support the official release if you can! And now, on with the story!)
There were pieces of steel still in his hair.
As he gently pressed his hand against Lloyd’s body to help maneuver him onto the awaiting stretcher and blood seeped from his skin into his glove, all he could focus on were the stage lights catching on the flecks of shards tucked into his blonde hair.
There were pieces of steel still in his hair.
As he gently pressed his hand against Lloyd's body to help maneuver him onto the awaiting stretcher and blood seeped from his skin into his glove, all he could focus on were the stage lights catching on the flecks of shards tucked into his blonde hair.
Cole knew that it was because focusing on how ruthless and bold Zeatrix had been with her blow or the shallow breathing coming from the still bleeding chest of his teammate would result in tears that he didn't want anyone to see.
When the security bots lifted the stretcher and he heard a sharp inhale coming from Lloyd, he couldn't stop himself from reaching over and pulling one of the shards out of his loose, green headband, holding it tightly in his palm.
He couldn't bring himself to move until a familiar titanium hand rested on his shoulder, forcing him to look up into bright, artificial blue eyes that were full of the same worry he could feel wrapping around his chest.
"We should return to our quarters," Zane's suggestion was gentle as he prodded Cole's shoulder gently to move him away from the bloodied ground under their feet, "I am confident that the medical bots will alert us when they have an update on Lloyd's condition."
He wordlessly led the way to their sleeping quarters, unable to stop himself from walking over to the shrine Nya had made before she had left and looking up at the pictures of Kai and Jay as he knelt down, setting the shard on the table.
He knew that if Kai had been here, he would be the nervous wreck; he would be the one nearly ripping his hair out with worry, even if it was after he had gone to Zeatrix and delivered her a piece of his mind; with all of the trouble that they had gone to in order to stop Wyldfyre from fighting Cinder, Kai would have been unstoppable against Zeatrix.
But if Jay had been there, he would have lightened the air of dread with some sort of really bad joke or teasing at anyone's expense; it wouldn't even have to be that funny, but it would be something to break the tension.
The last thing he wanted was to put Lloyd's picture in between Kai's and Jay's, but that fear didn't stop him from pulling his lighter out of his pocket and gently pressing the flame to one of the sticks of incense until it caught, the warm smell of smoke slowly starting to fill the corner he was kneeling in.
"Cole?"
Cole turned his head, feeling his guard drop when Geo knelt down beside him and pressed a water bottle into his palm before letting his hand rest on his shoulder.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Geo offered and as much as Cole wanted to, the angle of his turned head allowed him to see Wyldfyre, Sora, Arin and even Zane with the same looks of worry on their faces that told him that he wouldn't be able to break right now.
"I can't," he admitted as he took a sip of the water before looking away from the others and back into Geo's eyes, "I gotta take care of these kids."
With that, he started to pull himself to his feet, only to be stopped briefly by a gentle hand on his wrist, "take care of yourself too."
"I will." Cole insisted before fully standing up and walking towards Sora, keeping his voice low as he approached, "hey, Sora."
Her loud sniffle, followed by her wiping her face on her arm, before she made eye contact with him pulled at his heart painfully, "hey, I just…I'm trying to figure out tomorrow."
"Your next fight?"
"There aren't a lot of people left in the competition. Frack's powers are all correlated to his abilities and Nokt is incredibly powerful, not to mention the fact that they are both helping Ras; if Lloyd is able to continue competing and they put me against him…" Sora sighed as she looked down at her feet, "I don't even know how I got this far in the tournament."
"Besides the fact that you're a badass?" Cole offered, waiting until she looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, "you doubt yourself a lot, Sora, but you have gotten further than all of us except Lloyd, which is saying something since we've been in a tournament like this before."
"Really?"
"Yeah, except this one has rules that the host actually follows," Cole elaborated, "my point is that if anyone is going to win this thing, it's you. If you have to go against Frack, I know how the workarounds to earth based powers and if it's Nokt, we'll come up with a strategy with Zane."
"And Lloyd?"
"I already had to watch two of my best friends fight on opposite sides, I really hope Roby doesn't pit you two against each other."
"I've been thinking about that since we returned to our quarters," Cole nearly jumped out of his skin by the sudden intrusion of Zane's voice as he sat between the two of them, "and I have run the possible scenarios through my database. There is a sixty seven point nine percent chance that Lloyd and Nokt will be pitted against each other, due to their very powerful skill sets at their base level that has only been amplified by the addition of elemental powers which will result in a twenty percent increase in audience entertainment levels."
"But what if they pit me against Lloyd?"
"The likelihood is much lower, it's a thirty two point one percent chance, but including the fact that Lloyd is your master and the engagement from the fight between Nya and Jay, the audience entertainment levels could increase up to eighty percent."
"So it could really go either way." Cole sighed in defeat that was only added to by Zane's nod followed by one word.
"Precisely."
"I hate this," Sora shuddered, tears falling down her cheeks faster than she could wipe them away, "Nya and Riyu are gone, Arin won't talk to me, and now Lloyd is really, really hurt. I just want all of this to be over."
"Yeah, me too, kiddo."
"I know everyone says that ninja never quit…" she trailed off in order to pull a sniffly inhale, "but I really feel like quitting right now."
"I know that you feel hopeless but forfeiting the tournament now, especially if Lloyd is unable to fight tomorrow, would be catastrophic to our reasoning for coming here."
"Zane's right," Cole agreed, reaching over to gently squeeze Sora's shoulder, "we have to find out who is killing the matriarchs and what they are using their horns for."
"This isn't helping me feel bet-" Sora mumbled, but was effectively cut off by the sound of the door opening followed by two of the security bots making their way into the room.
"Can we be of assistance?" Zane offered as he stood with Cole and Sora doing the same and Cole's feeling of unease returned just as quickly as it had been momentarily forgotten.
"We have been given orders to ensure that Zane and Cole follow us to the medical wing in order to receive information about the injured member of their team."
"What about the rest of us?" Arin's question was the first time Cole had heard the teen speak in hours, briefly making him wonder if Sora wasn't the only one on the receiving end of his silent treatment.
"I apologize, but the only ones allowed inside of the medical wing are adult team members. You will have to wait here for the information to be relayed to you."
Cole waited for a protest from the three teens, but was instantly relieved when Geo spoke up instead, "let's get you three some dinner ordered. I don't know if you've had it yet, but the Merlopian spring rolls are to die for."
As the two security bots led Cole and Zane outside, he couldn't stop himself from looking back at his boyfriend and the three distracted teenagers, but the wink that Geo gave was enough for Cole to allow himself to focus on the task at hand.
Making sure Lloyd was okay.
In a way, he was thankful that Arin had pulled him away from the arena after Sora's fight.
Cole would be more than happy to go the rest of his life without seeing another person he loved deep within a coma and even though he was quickly swept up into yet another fight, it prevented him from going back to the room filled with tense silence and suffering.
In fact, it was that adrenaline that he found himself engulfed in, that kept him realizing that Lloyd was 'awake and alive and standing' until after he had pulled Bonzle into a very tight hug, unable to stop himself from muttering "thank the master you're okay" just loud enough that she could hear it.
Which made the calm he settled into after failing to find Arin all the more unsettling; in any other circumstance, he would have gladly taken the chance to just relax on the couch with Geo's head on one shoulder while he firmly wrapped the other one around Bonzle as Fritz and Spitz recounted everything they had been up to while they had been staying at the monastery with Frohickey.
He so desperately wanted to keep his focus on the elaborate but more than likely exaggerated story he was being told, but his mind kept going back to Lloyd.
The sword shattering on impact, knocking him off of the high platform from several feet onto the ground with a thud. The harsh coughing and his eyes fluttering open with a squint before they closed with a groan. Geo's hand resting softly on his shoulder as he watched over Lloyd and gently wiped away the blood and sweat with a sponge, his stomach twisting painfully as he listened to the sharp, painful breathing escaping from Lloyd's battered chest.
Standing over his teammate, the teammate he had known since they were sixteen and nine, and once again unable to do anything to help, feeling as though he was thirteen again and slowly watching his mom deteriorate until she too fell into a coma.
'Lloyd woke up,' he tried to reassure himself when he felt a squeeze on his left hand from Geo that brought him back to the two yawning storytellers, 'Lloyd's going to be okay.'
But when Bonzle got up with an "alright, you can talk our ears off tomorrow," as she ushered Fritz and Spitz to their room, Cole wasn't able to shake the unsettled feeling in his gut.
"When was the last time you checked on him?" Geo prodded, using the opportunity to sit up and brush some of the raven-black hair behind Cole's ear.
"Before Sora's fight. After that, everything got really chaotic; now Arin's gone," Cole stopped to rub a hand over his face before turning to Geo with a sigh, "and I don't know how I'm going to even approach that."
"In my personal experience, starting with a hug tends to work."
"Yeah, yeah, you're right," Cole muttered as he stood, only stopping to turn around to hug Geo quickly along with a quick kiss on his cheek, "I'll be back, okay?"
"Just make sure he's okay."
And with Geo's insistence, he walked out of the living room and into the hallway of the monastery to start looking for Lloyd.
He should have known it wouldn't take long to find him; even in the short period since he had returned to the monastery, it wasn't lost on him just how much time Lloyd spent outside deep in meditation.
But when he got closer and noticed what Lloyd was holding, he couldn't help but swallow nervously: he knew when he went to check on him that his worry and regret for how that final battle went being at the forefront of his mind was a strong possibility, but being face-to-face with it still made him aware that how he approached the green ninja would have to be very careful.
"Hey, buddy," Cole settled on, trying his hardest to keep his demeanor calm and collected in order not to further set him off despite the instant jump and turn that his voice caused, "you doing okay?"
At first, he didn't get an answer as he looked down at the stone floor; but the look on Lloyd's face, which was twisted tightly with guilt and worry, spoke for itself.
And when he finally managed to speak, the crack in his voice made it very clear to Cole that he was using all of his remaining energy to stay composed, "he's gone. I don't know why he believed Ras, but he did. Now he's gone, all because I failed him."
"Lloyd-"
"And I don't know what to do. Sora, Riyu and Wyldfyre, they're all looking to me for answers that I don't even have. I don't even know where to begin looking for him or if I want to bring everyone into that or just go-"
"Lloyd, take a deep breath," Cole cut off his rambling, "it has been a really long couple of weeks and I know you want to find Arin so you can make things right, but all of us need a couple of days to breathe and to rest."
"Y-you're right," Lloyd stuttered as he looked down at the photo frame clutched tightly in his palm, "I know that, but at the same time…I want to find him before Ras has a chance to further manipulate him. We saw what he did to Jay."
Cole swallowed down the memory of Jay's glowing red eyes after he used Shatterspin, not wanting it to cloud his judgment, "you have to finish healing, Lloyd. That hit and the fall, it was a lot."
Sure enough, Lloyd's hand drifted upwards to his shoulder over the bandages that had been wrapped tightly around him in the aftermath of his fight against Zeatrix.
"Come on," Cole offered, holding his hand out for Lloyd to take, "let's get you checked over and in bed. It's been a long day."
"I thought I was the master of the monastery." Lloyd said with a light chuckle as he put down the picture frame before taking Cole's hand so he could get down the step before he gently wrapped his arm around him.
"You are, but even masters need someone to look after them," and for a brief moment, Cole was reminded of watching with worry at every unexpected movement that Wu would make after he had been found, "now let's get those bandages changed."

New sibling
Misako informs Lloyd that he will get a new sibling. (Yes, Misako is 39 or 40 years old in this fic). Lloyd does not react well to the news and seeks comfort by talking to Kai.
Request from ao3
Misako sighed. She knew she should be happy, but she couldn't be if she didn't know how Lloyd and Garmadon would react to the news.
She knew Garmadon would be overjoyed. She hoped Lloyd would be happy too... even though she had a bad feeling about it.
Misako tossed the test into the trash and sighed again.
Theoretically, she knew she could be pregnant for a few more years. But did she expect that?
Not at all.
When she heard someone arriving, she walked towards the entrance.
"Hi, Mom!" Lloyd said happily when he entered.
"Lloyd." Misako smiled and hugged him. She had to do this now. She couldn't keep it to herself.
"Can you come sit on the couch for a moment?" Misako asked him. "I have news."
"Good or bad?" Lloyd froze. It surprised him that she didn't ask how his day was.
Misako didn't answer but pointed for him to sit.
"What happened?" Lloyd was becoming increasingly anxious. "You and Dad aren't leaving, are you?"
"No one is leaving, sweetheart," Misako said gently, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Someone is coming."
"Are you happy about that?" Lloyd watched her carefully.
"I can't be happy if you're not happy," Misako said, tenderly stroking his face.
"What’s the news?" Lloyd was growing more curious.
"You're getting a new sibling," Misako said.
"What?!" Lloyd was taken aback. "How?"
"I'm pregnant, Lloyd," Misako said tightly.
Lloyd paused for a moment and stepped back from her.
"Why?" he asked, bewildered.
"Lloyd." Misako tried to approach him, but he moved away.
"Why did you decide this now?"
"Things don't work that way," Misako said sadly. "You can't choose when you're going to be pregnant."
"Why isn't me enough for you?" A few tears fell down Lloyd's face.
"Of course you're enough for us, sweetheart," Misako said quietly, trying again to reach him. "I love you the most in the world, as does your father."
"Then why do you want to replace me?" Lloyd asked through his tears.
"Of course we don't want to replace you," Misako thought she might cry too. "You are the best thing that ever happened to us. For so long we couldn't have children..."
"No." Lloyd stood up.
"What's going on here?" Sensei Garmadon asked, confused, as he entered.
Lloyd walked quickly by him and out of the monastery.
"Lloyd, wait!" Misako started after him, but Sensei Garmadon caught her by the arm.
"Tell me what’s happening," he gently said to Misako.
"I knew this would be a bad idea, I knew it," Misako said, a few tears running down her face.
"What is it?" Sensei Garmadon asked gently, wiping her tears.
"I told him." Misako sighed and sat down.
"What?" Sensei Garmadon was tense. He knew it was something big.
"I told him I'm pregnant, that’s what." Misako said, putting her head in her hands to stop crying.
Sensei Garmadon felt butterflies in his stomach. He couldn't believe it.
He wanted to jump for joy and hug her... but it wasn't the right moment.
"That’s wonderful news..." Sensei Garmadon managed to say. "The best since we found out we were having Lloyd."
"But Lloyd thinks we want to replace him," Misako said quietly. "I... can't bear if he's..."
"It's okay, calm down," Sensei Garmadon gently said, hugging Misako. "This will pass; later he will be happy too."
"Are you sure?" Misako asked, burying her head into his shoulder.
"For sure." Sensei Garmadon ran his hands through her hair as he held her close. "You'll see, as soon as he gets back, he'll change his mind, and..."
~~~~~~
"What happened, Lloyd?" Kai asked when he saw him coming with red eyes.
"I'm scared," Lloyd said with a lump in his throat.
"Who’s coming?" Kai took a fighting stance. "Serpentine or..."
"No one like that." Lloyd sighed and sat down. "I'm afraid that Mom and Dad want to replace me."
"What?" Kai was at a loss for words.
"Mom's pregnant," Lloyd said in one breath.
"What?!" Kai exclaimed in astonishment. "That's great! Congratulations..."
"I don't know if it's great," Lloyd said sadly.
"Having a sibling is the most beautiful thing in the world," Kai said, sitting beside Lloyd. "I don't know what I would do without Nya..."
"But it's not the same," Lloyd said angrily. "You and Nya are a small difference, and I and..."
"A big difference isn't a problem," Kai comforted him.
"How do you know?" Lloyd looked at Kai. "I felt like someone wants to take my place."
"Now I'm going to tell you something," Kai said seriously. "I thought I would be the Green Ninja. I was a hundred percent sure of it.
Then one son of Garmadon came and took it from me. I felt like everyone had replaced me.
Instead of getting angry, I accepted him, and it hurt, but he became like a young brother to us all.
Even though we were scared... because we had to take care of him and train him.He..."
"I know you're talking about me," Lloyd said, smiling a little.
"See, you're already feeling better." Kai said proudly.
"Is it really cool to have a younger sibling?"
"Of course it is," Kai laughed. "You'll teach him and protect him. Play with him or her, save him or her from your parents when they get mad.
You'll be his or her hero, the coolest big brother."
"That sounds nice," Lloyd smiled.
"Of course it does." Kai patted him on the shoulder.
"I'm actually happy!" Lloyd said cheerfully, standing up.
"Of course you are." Kai laughed. "I can't wait to tell the others... Oh and Wu, he'll fall to the ground with happiness when they find out he'll have another nephew!"
"Maybe it'd be better if I told them," Lloyd felt a bit foolish, stealing Kai’s joy. "Or Mom and Dad."
"You're right." Kai said. "Are you going?"
"I have to go home and sort things out first," Lloyd said and hurried off.
~~~~~~
"Mom, Dad!" Lloyd shouted as he entered the monastery.
"Lloyd?" Misako said, coming to him. "Listen..."
"I'm sorry!" Lloyd said, hugging Misako. "I'm so happy. I want to be a big brother!"
Misako smiled and kissed him on the forehead. "I didn't want to hear anything more."
"I told you," Sensei Garmadon cheerfully said from the kitchen, joining the hug. "Soon there will be one more of us."

I saw some people discussing this in the ninjago tag so I’ll put in my two (or four) cents
Arin is still shrugging off his fanboy view of the ninja— as perfect and incredibly cool people— which is completely wrong. (< maybe I’ll write a fic about that one day) Pushing the found family dynamic on Arin with Lloyd, in my opinion, doesn’t fit with Arin’s character, especially since Arin’s personal goal is to find his parents, and get back to his status quo: before the merge. In fact, I think the found family dynamic may create a distance between Arin and the rest, as opposed to a deeper bond being formed, especially if we push them into the average archetypes of family, aka mom, dad, siblings, etc.
Sora’s situation is a lot different, but in general she doesn’t have a great idea of what parents are supposed to be like, other than the general “you should love me”. Therefore, in my opinion of her character, it’s extremely unlikely she could consider any of her mentors as something more, though if you decide to go into dragons rising thinking that the found family will happen, you will surely assume some evidence to be proof of your side (I think this is is called eisegesis). I also don’t think she’s ready to call the ninja her family.
Wyldfire already has parents, it’s just a different species and a robot. Kai is really only teaching her self control and general fire skills, while also learning how to teach someone like Wyldfire (like Shi-fu in Kung Fu Panda!) I don’t really know much about Wyldfire, but more knowledgeable fans of her are free to comment on her arcs on their own!
As for the actual ninja involved, none of them, again, in my opinion, display parental love to any of the new characters. Lloyd doubts himself severely in even being a good teacher. All of them also have very… interesting parents. Which of course can muddle the idea of parenthood for them. They’re also dealing with a lot throughout Dragons Rising, with Lloyd’s visions, Nya’s Jay situation, and Kai literally being in the nether space. None of this makes them parents to Sora, Arin, or Wyldfire. They simply are teaching them.
Of course, you’re free to headcanon whatever you’d like! But considering the family dynamic canon is not very well supported in the show so far. If I'm spewing nonsense here, tell me because I have no idea what having kids nor the effect of having bad parents is like. (I’m blessed familial-wise)

Boredom cured. (Kai and Nya Tickle Fight.)
This is set not long after "Never Trust a Snake." so this is when Lloyd was still a kid..... >:D
Kai was working at his blacksmith forge when he saw Nya watching him with her "am so done with being bored but I'm still bored" face.
as an older brother, he knew that face and several ways to cure it.
he snuck up behind his sister and jumped on her the way they had when they were little.
"ACK! Kai, what is this!" Nya yelped. Kai cracked his knuckles and smirked at his little sister.
"Just helping you not be bored.........." he plunged into scribbling all over her ribs and armpits.
"AAAHAHAHAA! KAHAHAHAI STAHAHAHAP" Kai just grinned and continued.
"What? you were bored!"
Nya somehow managed to reach up and scribble on his ribs, making him fall over.
"ACK!!! EH- NYAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA STAHAHAHAAAAHHAAAP!"
"What? I'm just giving payback!" Nya smiled and scribbled on his ribs, which were his weak spot. After some minutes of torture, Kai managed to shove her off and jumped on her again.
it went like that for a long while. finally, the two siblings gave it a break.
"Truce?" Kai panted, flopping down.
"Truce," Nya agreed. The two fell silent.
How silent?
Silent enough that when Lloyd, who was still really nervous around everybody, came sneaking through, he didn't notice them.
Nor did they say anything or move, waiting to see what the kid was doing, because they didn't see much of him. he hid most of the time.
They watched as Lloyd crawled under the couch, exposing it as one of his hiding spots. the two siblings locked eyes and smirked.
Despite Lloyd's silence, and (pretty much) fear of them, they'd recently found out that he was very ticklish. and that his weakest spot was his stomach.
And if the kid was still scared of them, that needed fixing.
So, a few seconds later, the kid's surprised laughter could be heard from down the hall.
'IGHT SO THAT'S IT, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK IN THE COMMENTS.
oh wow, I sound like a Youtuber.

vita mutatur, non tollitur
"vita mutatur, non tollitur" - life is changed, not taken away.
Morro builds a new life for himself, starting with a cat.
Warnings: Mental health issues, self-indulgent fic, possibly ooc Morro?
Extra: I wanted to give Morro a redemption arc and a cat, and decided that the Ninja and Wu will not be there to cause drama until after Morro's redemption arc. I've been working on this for so long-
Morro is revived alongside Garmadon not Garmadon, his unc- the man he knew was kind and would never hurt his son. That... thing is a monster in the crude shape of Garmadon's husk. He's given a choice, but instead of picking a side with the Ninja or Garmadon, he goes into hiding, stalking the grimy, abandoned streets of Ninjago.
Wu and most of the Ninja are presumed dead, the remaining Water Ninja and Green Ninja hate him, and Garmadon is not the same man he met 40-some years ago.
Where does he go? What does he do? What purpose does he have?
The wind doesn't seem to respond as much anymore. As expected, why would such a powerful, amazing element be wasted on a good-for-nothing like Morro?
The wind master wanders the streets, barely convincing himself each morning to keep on living.
The human body is very finicky; needs sleep, needs food, needs water, it's so needy.
He finds a small cat. A little, skinny but fluffy black cat with crusty green eyes and the saddest meow you've ever heard.
He shouldn't take in the cat. He can barely take care of himself, not to mention he'd just forget about feeding it. He'll probably end up hurting it like he hurts everyone else around him, so he really shouldn't take it in.
...but feeding it sometimes wouldn't be horrible. Eating with it makes Morro feel just a little less alone.
But nothing else.
He feeds her it every day. He eats with it, so, if just out of convenience, he's always near the scrawny kitten whenever he decides to eat, he pretends he doesn't notice. She might be growing on him.
He lets her- it sleep with him. The thing is so small, it shivers itself to sleep. The poor kitten will die in the winter. He curls around her protectively to stave off the elements. His element is kind enough to avoid blasting them with sharp gales of frozen air.
Morro is never seen without her. The locals call him "Black Cat Man", as she's always visible peering curiously out of his hood, resting on his shoulders. She's gained weight, and is looking more healthy, rather than emaciated.
Maybe she should have a name.
"Shadow?" No.
"Midnight?" No.
"Ash?" No. Light nip on the ear.
"...Violet?" Purring and a nuzzle to the cheek.
When Lloyd and the Ninja liberate the city, Morro helps.
Not much, but he helps. He guides crowds of escapees to safe locations, escorts people out of unstable buildings, finds people trapped in rubble; he helps.
Violet cheers up some siblings that got separated from their parents. The family reunites, and the children ask for a black cat.
Wu is alive. He looks strangely young, but he is alive.
Morro cries in an alleyway when he is finally alone. With Violet, of course. He missed his Sensei.
Part of him considered trying to return. Arriving one day to the monastery, the doors wide open and Wu waiting for him. To apologize for everything he did and just be his student again.
But, he can't. He's hurt too many people, hurt those his sensei care for. Hurt Lloyd.
He cannot return.
He will imagine anyways.
Morro got a job. Apparently, he fit the "emo-punk vibe" the store was going for. He doesn't know exactly what they mean by that, but at least he doesn't have to steal food anymore.
He also got an apartment. It is quite small, but enough space for him and Violet. The place came with furniture and appliances, so he bought cat supplies and clothes. The wind elemental was told by a worker that he had an outdated style – she pushed him over to a store that had, in her words, "alternative clothing", which "fit his vibe" more.
He thinks she's right after trying on a few outfits.
Her name is Eryn. She gives him her phone number, the nickname "Stripes", and tells him, "Once you get a phone, call me up, 'kay Stripes?"
Morro thinks Eryn's pretty cool. Likes her... "vibe". Is he using that word correctly?
New slang is so weird.
He's saving up for a phone, which is easy because the place he works at, Skreeming Skullz, pays a good amount of money. As long as rent doesn't raise too high.
He meet two of his neighbors; Acid and Maggie. They're dating, and live together. Acid is something they call "non-binary", which means they aren't male or female.
Morro understands, he feels the same way. He tells Acid this, and they introduce him to all of the different "genders" and "pronouns". He thinks he may be agender.
It doesn't matter to him; he's still Morro.
Whenever their landlord tries to bring up rent, the three of them do things like break windows, yell loudly, graffiti walls, and generally make living suck a little more. Some of their other neighbors do the same thing.
He asks Maggie why. "We're rebellin'," she says. "We're tellin' 'em that we won' pay more to live here, n' no one else'll wanna live in a buildin' with broken windows and rowdy ass neighb'rs."
Violet has gotten much bigger. Morro uses to be able to hold her with one hand, now she fits into his arms, provided he cradles her like a baby.
He also brought her to the veterinarian, got her vaccinated, tested, and given a check up. She is perfectly healthy, surprising considering she grew up on the streets. The vet said Violet looks like a Maine Coon, which means she'll get much bigger. They think she's about 7 months old.
His powers are slowly returning. It reminds him of when he first unlocked his powers. He had to focus to even shift around leaves.
He works to become better. Not like he did with Wu; to become the Green Ninja. He practices because he loves his element. He tentatively told Eryn, Acid, and Maggie about his powers. He thinks they may have made the connection that he's the ghost from the Stiix Incident.
They don't act differently.
Morro is... happy. He has a purpose. He's friends with Eryn, they made friendship bracelets and she promised that, no matter how "kooky" or "messed up" he is, she is his friend. He's Violet's caretaker. He's Maggie and Acid's neighbor. He's the Master of Wind.
...
He still misses Sensei Wu.
Most times, Morro's happy. He goes on walks with Violet, catches up on history at the library, texts Eryn modern slang questions, and hikes to the top of hills to feel the breeze.
Sometimes, Morro's sad. He sits around with the old, rickety blinds as shut as possible. He eats cold leftovers from three days ago. He questions if he deserved any of this. On those days, Violet carries over her brush and purrs contentedly as Morro grooms her dark fur. She always makes him feel a bit better. Makes the bad days not as bad.
Sometimes, Morro's angry. He soaks in the silence of his internal fuming. He yells incoherently. He repeatedly hits the wooden table. He complains to Violet about destiny's unfairness.
He isn't angry as often anymore. He has another worth, another purpose, he doesn't need to be the Green Ninja; doesn't need to be Lloyd.
The Ninja aren't in Ninjago City much. According to rumors, they're finally rebuilding the monastery.
Ninjago City is rebuilding as well. Morro volunteers around the city, when he can.
It's good that the Ninja aren't often there anymore. His throat seizes and his heart bangs against his ribcage like it's imprisoned whenever he sees the Green Ninja, or the Water Ninja, or Sensei Wu. He cannot be caught.
Morro helps people from getting attacked by fiery snakes, and watches the Prime Empire attack happen through NGTV News at home with Acid, Eryn, and Maggie.
He ventures out more when the Ninja leave to Shintaro.
He finds a nice, serene coffee shop with decent prices. There's a kind barista there, they smell of lavender and coffee, and have a bunch of piercings in their face. Their name is Salem. They used to go to college with Eryn.
Morro's powers are going crazy. He doesn't often use them, unless it's a "rot day", as Maggie calls them. Apparently, when Morro doesn't feel like doing anything because he's done too much, that's normal for some people, and he shouldn't be chastised or forced to work more. He was a bit shocked by this, as that was always Wu's first go-to solution. Then again, that old fool was quite outdated. Morro mostly use them to check for people or to get things out of reach.
He shatters a plate, which scares Violet. Acid and Maggie bursts in to make sure he's okay, and helps him clean up the broken plate. He also sees on the news that the Water Ninja's powers are acting up too; she conjured a water spout and lost control of it. He knows the history of Wojira and their powers connection, but Morro brushes it off.
It's probably fine.
A few days later, he scolds himself for brushing that off as he barely keeps Violet and himself afloat. She mewls quietly, clearly upset at this situation.
Morro tries one more time to rocket them out of the water, and this time it works. He uses his now-under-control powers to dry Violet and himself off.
He sets her down, and dives back in to find Acid and Maggie, who are trapped in their apartment. He manages to break a window to get in, causing water to gush in and fill any spaces that haven't been flooded yet. He grabs their hands and they swim like hell to the surface, landing of the rooftop where Violet is.
His phone miraculously works, so he dials up Eryn, who is out of town to visit family. She and her family are luckily okay, as they live up on a mountain. He also checks on Salem, who is saved by one of the Ninja.
They see the Wa- Nya merge with the sea, and a part of Morro nags to join her. He watches as she left her family and friends. He quietly stands near the back of her sort-of funeral.
Morro knows she isn't gone, he had a gut feeling... or is it more his elemental power knowing? His connection with Nya is strange.
He wonders if she could feel it too.
The Ninja seem to disappear along with her.
Kai leaves to teach kids martial arts. Jay leaves. Zane stops expressing emotion. Lloyd completely quit to become a window washer. Cole was the only one that seems to continue semi-normally, but it was obvious Nya's absence affects him too. He has no clue what Sensei Wu is up to. He worries about him, Wu never handles loss well.
While Morro learns about the other Ninja through the news, social media, or rumors around his complex, he discovers Lloyd's fate himself. Hell, he shows up at his window.
To clean it.
Luckily, Morro could tell it's him before he sees into the window, so Morro has a chance to dash into hiding. He doesn't clean windows on Morro's complex often, but Morro makes an effort to never be home when Lloyd's cleaning.

Whumptober Day 25: Surgery
Being monitored
2177 Words; Betrothal AU
TW for injury mention
AO3 ver
Jay floated back to consciousness much like a dead fish floating to the surface of a lake.
He felt about as bloated and gross, too, the sweat between him and whatever he was lying on one of the first things he registered. The world spun into being around him in a wobbly, maybe drunken fashion, shapes and colors and sounds all kind of mish-mashing together until Jay’s brain sorted itself out enough to start differentiating between them all.
He felt funny. His head really hurt, and there was a strong sense of nausea in his throat, like something was caught there that he couldn’t cough out.
Okay, Jay, time to think. The thought was kind of watery, a bit insubstantial—oh, was he concussed? Concussion. Concussion. Conk-ush-un. What a funny word.
Okay, yeah, definitely concussed. Or maybe drugged—his limbs felt kind of floaty in the way they did that one time his appendix burst and his parents took him to the hospital and he’d been on painkillers—
The point was that the feeling was vaguely familiar, even if Jay couldn’t consciously place it.
He was lying on what might have been a stretcher or might have been a cot, a gentle pressure on his wrist resolving itself into a leather cuff. The room he was in was mostly bare stone, with a small counter with a sink off to one side and a single cabinet. There was a guy in a funny-looking outfit leaning against what was probably the door, but Jay couldn’t tell if the guy’s eyes were open or not. Everything was just a little blurry—that wasn’t normal, right?
Oh, yeah, concussion. Conk-cussing. Ha! Jay giggled, amused with his own thoughts. The giggle turned to a hiccup turned to a cough, and he thought the guy by the door must have shifted because something about them looked… different.
Or maybe it was the concussion talking.
But what had Jay been doing before… before he got here, because he was pretty sure he’d never been in this room before—he’d been doing something important. Something stressful, something that made flashes of sand and lightning pass through his mind. Something… Cole had been there, hadn’t he?
Cole had… it was something important about Cole, Jay was pretty sure. Something to do with—with snakes, purple snakes slithering across bare skin—
The tattoo!
It hit Jay like a—well, like a lightning bolt. The alliance. The accusations against Chen. Chen’s response, the search for tattoos—
Cole had an anacondrai tattoo on his back.
Was that—was Cole the spy? But how? Why? No, no, that couldn’t be it—
“Awake, I see.” Jay’s train of thought careened off a cliff into oblivion at the new voice, and he turned to look. A wave of nausea punished the motion, and Jay’s vision swam as a guy approached—wait, that was that mage guy, the one who always followed Chen around—Clouse!
Jay attempted to say something, either a complaint about his accommodations or some pithy line he didn’t have—his voice came out kind of garbled, random syllables mishmashed together as his tongue struggled to remember that it was a tongue.
“And clearly still out of it.” Clouse drawled, hands folded behind his back. He sighed, and Jay finally found his voice—
“At least I’m not ugly.” He snapped, which wasn’t what he meant to say.
Clouse sighed again. “Maybe you are well enough to work in the factory, then.” He suggested, making Jay balk, the cuff tugging on his wrist—or was he tugging against the cuff?
“Um, wow, is the room spinning for anybody else? Haha wheeeeee I’m so dizzy, you totally shouldn’t trust me around heavy machinery—”
“Silence.” Clouse hissed. Jay’s rambling petered out slowly, his vision blurring as his headache surged. Clouse looked him over, then—
“One more day’s rest.” He decided. “If he isn’t in a state to work by then,” he shrugged, “so be it.” With that, Clouse left, leaving Jay alone with the cultist from earlier.
Ugh, this sucked. Jay made some attempts to talk to the guy, but—no dice. His headache kept coming and going in waves, his thoughts scattering in circles.
A flash on something gold in his memories, something important—something about Cole, that Jay needed to remember. But all he could remember was the shift of moving earth, the thud of rock against sand and the buzz of lightning through his veins—lightning he didn’t have anymore, dammit Chen—
But there was something important Jay needed to remember, through the fog and haze and pain of his concussion (ha, it had the word cuss in it!). But he just—couldn’t.
After a few hours, Jay laid back down, letting unconsciousness take him.
+=+=+=+=+
The atmosphere in the cafeteria was subdued. And no wonder—nobody had gotten much sleep on the bunks the night before, and now it was early in the morning. Plus the whole attempt to get all the elemental masters together in an alliance had ended in failure, thanks to—well.
Kai scowled into his breakfast. Getting the gang together had been a mistake. Beside him, Lloyd was morosely picking at his own breakfast, while Garmadon carefully ate what little the cafeteria staff were willing to give him. Cole was nowhere to be found—none of them had seen him since his fight with Jay the night before. Which didn’t bode well for Cole’s apparent status as a spy working for Chen—
“I can’t believe it.” Kai muttered. “We trusted him!” Who he was talking about went unsaid, but Lloyd and Garmadon understood it perfectly.
“But…” Lloyd started, clearly deep in thought. “Why would Chen tell us about the spy? I mean—” He gestured loosely, “Wouldn’t that just defeat the purpose of having a spy?”
“Chen can be impetuous in his manipulations…” Garmadon mused, clearly reminiscing.
“It broke up the alliance, that’s why.” Kai suggested. “Chen traded his advantage in order to get rid of ours.” He crossed his arms, leaning back. “We did kinda put him on the spot.”
Lloyd hmmed. “I don’t know…” He pulled his mask from his pocket and fiddled with it. “Something about it just doesn’t seem right. How would Chen have even convinced Cole to side with him?” He tossed his head back, considering. “I mean, it’s Cole.”
“He has Zane.” Kai pointed out softly. “Maybe that’s how he got Cole.” He sat up, crossing his arms. “What I don’t get is that pendant. Like, you all saw it, right? That was half of a yin-yang pendant, right?”
“That is a very confounding element, yes.” Garmadon agreed. “That he felt it important to show Jay means it must be related, but…”
“But how?” None of them had any idea what a yin-yang pendant had to do with anything. None of them had even known Cole was engaged—well, assuming it was a yin-yang pendant and not something else.
Kai’s shoulders hunched as he fought back to that fight. He hadn’t been able to hear what Cole and Jay were staying, from up in the stands, but he had been pretty sure that they were reconciling sometime after Cole pulled out the pendant—though Kai couldn’t begin to fathom why Cole would have a yin-yang pendant—
And then Cole had suckerpunched Jay with a rock. It just didn’t track with the Cole that Kai knew—
“Hey.” Well, speak of the rain, and the sky will open. Or something like that. Kai looked up to see Cole standing at the edge of their table. He looked like… a mess, actually, dark lines under his eyes and hair messier than normal. Now that Kai was looking, he could see a chain around the sides of Cole’s neck leading somewhere under his gi—the pendant?
“Cole!” Lloyd greeted. “Where have you been?”
“Throwing rocks around.” Cole responded, deadpan. “Can I…” He gestured towards the other side of the booth, at the empty space next to Garmadon, something sheepish in his eyes.
Kai’s eyes narrowed. “What the hell, Cole.” He led off with, which maybe wasn’t the best choice of words, if the way Cole’s shoulders hunched was any indication. Well, whatever. Kai was too tired to be gentle. “I want an explanation.” He demanded.
Cole nodded, still standing. “I—” he started, gaze darting to the floor, “There’s something I should have—” whatever Cole was going to say was cut off by a sudden clatter behind them, making them all turn to look at the source of the noise. Skylor was standing up slowly, sheepish look on her face as she offered a hand to help Shade and Paleman up. Neither took it, standing on their own and moving away from Skylor, clearly annoyed. Paleman went to go grab a new tray, while Shade left the cafeteria entirely, disappearing into the shadows and leaving some of the spilled food clinging to him behind.
Kai winced in sympathy. That had to be embarrassing for Skylor—the idea that she might have done it on purpose to copy Shade and Paleman’s powers simultaneously never even occurred to Kai.
“That’s awkward…” Lloyd was also wincing, while Garmadon’s expression was more reserved.
Cole, however—
“Really?” He muttered, face twisted in a mix between annoyance and disbelief. The lack of sympathy for Skylor, who was sheepishly trying to take care of the worst of the mess on the floor, irked Kai deeply. Maybe Cole really was the spy, then.
Skylor looked up, flashing Kai a quick smile—shit, how did she make being covered in bits of scrambled egg and syrup look good—before her gaze slid to Cole, who stiffened as her eyes narrowed. As Kai watched, Cole’s eyebrows did a complex dance, several emotions passing through his face too fast to parse, as though he and Skylor were having some kind of silent conversation.
Oh, right. Because the whole debacle with Jay and Nya during the robot apocalypse apparently wasn’t enough. Kai glowered as he remembered the way Cole had made Skylor laugh, or the way he’d seen them almost flirting at the skate rink—
(And wasn’t Cole supposed to be engaged? What was going on?)
“Cole?” Lloyd prompted, snapping Cole out of whatever silent battle he was having. “You were gonna explain…?”
Cole sighed. “This isn’t a good place.” He said softly. “Too many eyes.”
“Wh—” Kai stood up, “That’s it? We don’t see you at all all night and that’s all you have to say?” Maybe Cole was the spy. Maybe there was something else going on. Kai didn’t care about maybes—he couldn’t put his hopes on maybes. What Kai knew was that Cole had an anacondrai tattoo on his back and suckerpunched Jay with a rock to the face. Something wasn’t adding up, and Kai was done being led around by the nose. “Just leave, Cole. We don’t need a spy hanging around.”
Cole shot them all a helpless sort of look, before tearing his gaze away. “Whatever.” He said, with no energy in his voice. And then, in a slightly softer tone, “If you really wanna know… the answer’s in my room.” With that, he left—
—and Kai knew they were missing something.
+=+=+=+=+
Ugh, this was getting annoying.
The cultist hadn’t left, except for when another cultist came to trade places with him. Presumably, it was in case Jay hurt himself somehow—at least, that was probably how the cultists or Clouse would justify it—but Jay knew why they were really there: to keep him from escaping. He didn’t doubt that the factory would have similar supervision.
Being cuffed to this stupid cot sucked ass. Having a concussion and no elemental power sucked ass. Being constantly watched by some hardass who wouldn’t entertain joining Jay in conversation sucked FUCKING ass!
That Jay still couldn’t remember events in full also sucked ass, but in a much worse way. He knew something important had to have happened in that fight, something related to the coiled tattoo across Cole’s back and Chen gleefully admitting to having a spy among the competitors. Something to do with a golden teardrop shape—
But all Jay could recall were bits and pieces of the fight. He could remember zapping Cole with more volts than was really safe, and he was pretty sure Cole had socked him in the jaw for that. He knew they had thrown their elements around, that there had been sand on the arena floor—
But what had Cole said to him? How had the fight ended—when did Jay get hit hard enough to get his concussion?
Jay buried his face in his hands and groaned as another wave of nausea passed through him, vision blurring. He couldn’t remember. He couldn’t remember, and it was going to drive him insane.
Assuming this whole “locked alone in a room but for a guard that actively ignored him” thing didn’t drive him insane before that.
Ugh, he missed Zane. He missed him so much—
Was that why Cole had an anacondrai tattoo? Because of Zane? Jay didn’t know. He didn’t fucking know!
He was no closer to answers when Clouse came by the next day and had him hauled off to the factory, either.

Been seeing a lot of people say Dragons Rising is gonna be next-gen, what do yall think?
Personally I don't see it being next gen, you could add new characters without sidelining/removing older ones, Sora and Arin and the Baby dragon could all be new additions to the team, and you don't have to remove already existing characters just to make room for them (unless it's for Character Development reasons).

Meetings we haven't expected-Part1
Garmadon dies in Crystallized after a battle with Overlord. After the merge, his good side has been reincarnated and he finds Lloyd in Monastery with Arin and Sora.
Request from ao3
Lloyd sighed. It was a tough day, he had finally finished training and could rest.
He looked out the window and thought. He thought about those who were lost in the merge and needed to be found, and about those he would never find again... His father.
It happened for the second time, this time not as close, but it still hurt.
He remembered it as if it were yesterday.
☆☆☆☆☆
"By burying this plant, Cristopher, may it forever grow in this garden as a memory of my... my father." He managed to say through tears.
"It will be okay, Lloyd," Kai comforted him.
Everyone comforted him, but they couldn't empathize with him. They felt sorry, but it was as if they felt more sorry for him than for Garmadon.
And it all started with the battle against Overlord...
~~~~~~~
"Father!"Lloyd shouted after the Overlord hit Garmadon.
"I can't..."Garmadon caughted.
"It's okay," Lloyd comforted him, "Don't try to talk."
Garmadon returned to his normal form. "I'm sorry, Lloyd."
"Hold on," Lloyd worriedly spoke, "You'll be okay. I'll get you."
"Save... Save yourself. It's too late for me..." Garmadon coughed his last breath.
"No!!" Lloyd desperately shouted.
"Grieve not," Overlord laughed, "You will soon be joining him."
~~~~~~
Lloyd couldn't help but smile, wishing his father would come back to life as he did then.
~~~~~~
"Let's get out of here before the place explodes," Garmadon suddenly rose from the dead.
"You.." Lloyd's jaw almost dropped,
"What?" Garmadon confusedly asked,
"You're not dying?" Lloyd was astonished.
"Of course not."Garmadon said as if it was a normal thing.
"You were faking?!" Lloyd couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"I was helping you achieve your Oni Form!" Garmadon proudly said.
Lloyd was annoyed, "I didn't need Oni Form! It didn't even work!"
"It would have, if you hadn't been scared by your own reflection," Garmadon angrily told Lloyd.
~~~~~~
"Lloyd," Misako came to Lloyd and hugged him.
"Mom," Lloyd tried to say something without crying.
"Everything is as it should be," she tried to comfort him while gently wiping tears from his face.
She also felt sorry, although probably not as much as usual. They hadn't talked since he comed back.
Surely for her, he never even lived again. She probably looked sick now just because it hurt to see him in that state.
Was there no one who completely understood him?
Then he remembered Master Wu!
He believed in his brother, always in everything.
~~~~~~
"It's true. She helped," Garmadon said about Harumi, "Not as much as I did, perhaps, but why argue over details."
"I'm so proud of you, brother!" Wu proudly smiled.
~~~~~~
He tried to go to Master Wu, but he had locked himself in his room to study ancient scrolls.
After Lloyd, he was the hardest for him. Lloyd barely held back from screaming in anger, just when they started to have a good relationship again...
Then he died after the battle with the Overlord, just after Lloyd thought everything was over..
☆☆☆☆☆☆
"Enough!" Lloyd scolded himself, "It makes no sense to think about it."
He said to himself, unaware of what was happening.
No more Cristopher, memories of Garmadon, Garmadon is no more...
Now it's best to go prepare training for Arina and Sora.
*******
"Sorry," Sensei Garmadon apologized as he passed through... A crossroad?
Was that what this place was called?
At least that's what everyone called it now. He didn't know how much time had passed since he woke up surprised as a human.
He just knew he wanted to find Lloyd as soon as possible. He hoped he would be happy to see him...
That he could tell him everything. And apologize for all the bad things he had done...
"Excuse me?" He asked a passerby, "Do you know where they are, especially the green ninja, I am his... This old acquaintance."
"This way," the man coldly said and led him to another tent.
Everyone seemed busy here! That's why he left with Lloyd and Misako outside the city, long ago, to find peace.
"Lloyd?" His heart was beating wildly as he entered the tent, but he didn't find what he was looking for.
"What?" Sensei Garmadon gasped as he looked at pictures of ninjas.
Children leaving flowers.
"Did they... leave?"Sensei Garmadon asked disbelievingly.
"Unfortunately," a lady answered him, "But some new ninjas have arrived."
"New ninjas?" Sensei Garmadon exclaimed in astonishment.
"Yes," the lady smiled, "I heard they are now in the monastery..."
"Monastery of Spinjitzu?!" Garmadon suddenly exclaimed. "Where?!"
"Up there." The lady pointed, obviously frightened by his sudden reaction.
He wanted to apologize but didn't have time. Sensei Garmadon ran as fast as he could, without attracting too much attention, towards the monastery.
When he finally saw it, his heart fluttered once again.
He had a feeling he would find Lloyd there, his only son and his only pride.
